Publishing of the name of John Omond’s real father and the desire to safeguard inheritance
Jiří Mucha wrote a declaration that the actual father of John Omond is Vladimír Čech. In his statement, Jiří Mucha explicitly states that he does not want John Omond to receive any part of the legacy of Alfons Mucha whatsoever.
Name change
On August 25, 1970 Jan Marek Mucha shed his given name and became John Marcus Omond. In the name change document, he gave up all use of the name Mucha and swore off the name.
Escape to England
John leaves for England in 1966 after many arguments with Jiří Mucha. Whilst running away from his step-father he also changes his name.
